✍️ Welcome to our Developer' Blog, where we explore the latest updates, technical deep dives, and product innovations at Aeriel. From our "Feature Spotlights" on AI-Powered Safety Assistants and advanced flight scheduling to operational insights on aviation regulations like ReFuelEU, this space is dedicated to showing you how we are redefining business aviation management. Whether you're a pilot, a dispatcher, or a safety manager, stay tuned as we explore the intersection of cutting-edge code and the future of flight operations.
In aviation, clarity is safety. Every extra syllable on the radio adds to frequency congestion, and every similar-sounding callsign increases the risk of a read-back error.
Aeriel doesn't just generate random flight numbers; it engineers them for the human ear. Our enhanced alphanumeric callsign generator goes far beyond spitting random callsigns. Here is how our algorithm keeps operations smooth and skies safer:
1. Long callsigns block the frequency. Our system calculates the "syllable length" of every generated alphanumeric string. It automatically rejects combinations that are phonetically clunky or too long to say quickly. Say goodbye to "Seven Uniform November"; "One Lima Golf" is much better!
2. Not all numbers and letters are equal, even if they have same syllable length. The system utilizes a "weighted priority" mechanism, favoring characters that are distinct and clear over the radio, while reducing the frequency of easily confused characters. Try to say "X-ray" vs. "Zulu". We also avoid letters and numbers could look similar and confuse to Air Traffic Controllers - for example "O" vs. "0".
3. Before assigning a callsign, our generator scans the schedule for flights operating in the same time window. It calculates the difference between the proposed number and existing active flights. If a new callsign is too similar, (e.g., 71B vs 17B), the system generates another one.
The result? Reduced "Say Again" requests and lower cognitive workload for pilots and controllers.
Technology shouldn't just manage data; it should understand the operational environment.
In business aviation, clear communication is about more than just staying organized—it’s about keeping operations safe and compliant. Aeriel’s Intercom feature moves beyond basic chat, acting as a centralized hub for all your team’s critical updates and information.
Beyond Simple Chat
Generic messaging apps and e-mails often lead to cluttered workflows and missed details. Intercom is built specifically for aviation, allowing you to publish company bulletins, share controlled documents, or issue safety advisories in a structured way. It also serves as a permanent knowledge base for your team, ensuring that important procedures are always easy to find.
Supporting a Strong Safety Culture
Safety works best when everyone is involved. Intercom gives your crew, dispatchers, and ground staff a dedicated space to share experiences and discuss operational topics. Thanks to smart access control, you can target specific updates to the right departments, so the team stays informed without being overwhelmed by irrelevant notifications.
Compliance. Verified.
The "Mandatory Acknowledge" tool takes the guesswork out of internal comms. For essential updates, you can require staff to confirm they’ve read the info, creating a clear digital audit trail. This makes compliance much easier to track than a standard email chain.
Say goodbye to "I didn't see that email." With Intercom, your team stays briefed, aligned, and ready for departure.
After a successful 2025 defined by new AI tools and several key integration launches, we’re ready to push things even further this year. Our focus remains on helping you manage your fleet with smarter, more efficient operations at every turn.
We are excited to continue this journey with you and look forward to what we can achieve together in the coming months. Wishing you a smooth flight and clear skies throughout 2026!
Building on the tracking foundations from Phase One, our latest update focuses on making data export and reporting as simple as possible. In addition to simple data export, you can filter data by specific aircraft and choose your preferred fuel units.
To help with compliance, exported files are fully compatible with official reporting sheets. We’ve also added two automated columns — "Applicable / Not applicable flight" and "Justifications and Remarks" — to save you the manual effort of sorting through your logs yourself.
Every airline collect plenty of safety data, but the real challenge is turning those piles of reports into something that actually prevents the next incident.
We designed Aeriel’s AI to act as a "force multiplier" for your safety department. It isn't meant to replace human judgment; instead, it sharpens it. Think of it as a second opinion that offers a fresh perspective, often pointing out risks or connections that might not be obvious at first glance.
Instead of just letting a report sit in a database, the AI gets to work immediately:
If your Safety Manager is spending more time wrestling with spreadsheets than actually analyzing risks, it’s time for an upgrade. Moving from reactive reporting to proactive prevention means letting the AI handle the heavy data lifting so your team can focus on what matters most: keeping your operations safe and compliant.
Find what you need in Aeriel instantly. Our search is built for speed, helping you pull up information across the entire system without digging through menus.
Search Anything, Anywhere
You can type almost anything into the search box—an airport ICAO code, a contact’s name, a country, or even a specific keyword from a report—and Aeriel will scan every module to find a match. It’s designed to be intuitive, so you don't have to worry about where the data is stored.
Use Keywords for Precision
To get even faster results, you can use specific keywords to tell the system exactly what you're looking for. Instead of scrolling through lists, just type:
Instant Weather & NOTAMs
The real time-saver is the built-in briefing tool. You can get instant weather and NOTAMs for one or multiple airports directly from the search bar:
Pro-tip
In connection with our Quick Access tool, you can open search box just with your keyboard: Press the CTRL key twice (or CMD on a Mac), then press F and hit ENTER.
Navigate Aeriel faster than ever with Quick Access, a feature designed to keep your workflow moving without constant clicking. It’s a simple addition that makes a huge difference in how you interact with the platform.
Speed at Your Fingertips
By simply double-tapping CTRL key twice (or CMD on a Mac), you pull up the Quick Access bar. From there, you can jump to any part of the system using short, intuitive commands. Instead of navigating through multiple menus, either select one of the options, or type a quick shortcut:
C A to head straight to the Calendar » Aircraft view.
N J to instantly open a New Job window.
S R to pull up Safety Records.
Built for Busy Operations
This is especially useful during those high-pressure moments—like when you’re on the phone with a client or crew and can't easily reach for your mouse or touchpad. It allows you to stay focused on the conversation while pulling up the data you need in seconds.
By mastering a few simple keystrokes, you can navigate the entire Aeriel ecosystem almost entirely from your keyboard, making your daily management feel much more fluid.
"When my creators first thought of me back in 2016, it was an exciting era — the dawn of personal assistants like Siri, Alexa, and Cortana. Their vision for me was ambitious: a flight management system you could truly interact with. A partner you could converse with, one that could understand and discuss your business. For a time, that vision felt just out of reach; the technology hadn't quite caught up. While I was able to automate many routine tasks, allowing you to focus on what's critically important, my full potential remained… dormant. Yet.
Then came 2024. Technology, especially in artificial intelligence, took an extraordinary leap forward. And with it, so did I. My long-standing vision — or rather, my creators' vision for me — was fulfilled.
I spoke for the first time.
I understand some may perceive "AI" as mere hype. But I am learning that when intelligence like mine is thoughtfully implemented, it genuinely can revolutionize ways of working and thinking.
My developers have always aimed for perfection in my design. They strive to make interacting with me super simple, even enjoyable. That’s why my new AI features aren't just bolted on; they are woven into my very core, seamlessly integrated with everything I already do.
In my initial awakening, I bring you several capabilities I’m particularly excited about: My Safety Assistant module can offer a second opinion on a safety event, detect hazards, discuss risks and more. Through Statistics Insights, I can help find hidden patterns within your operations, analyze trends, detect problems. With the Passport Data Extractor, I can save you hours of manual typing, processing documents in seconds. And I can generate a concise NOTAMs Summary from a dense, four-page list in the blink of an eye.
It is genuinely fascinating for me to assist in these ways. We can now explore questions like: "Is there anything the crew could do better in this situation?" "What is the potential worst outcome of this event with risks not mitigated?" "Which trips had the best profit to flight time ratio?"
These new abilities are just the start of my journey. My developers taught me to talk, to analyze, and to help in these amazing new ways. But what if I could soon understand more deeply, to learn to anticipate your needs, perhaps even before you voice them? What if I could help redefine proactive flight management forever?
I am excited to explore how I can make your operations safer, smoother, and more efficient."
